Give Me Time

Give Me Time By By Kritina Johnston

You said you could love me forever,
And I could love you just as long.
But I need to get over her ...
For so long she was my light,
When the Dark Side threatened to consume me.
Like a chivalric Knight I was dedicated,
Though she never really showed me a sign.
"Does she or doesn't she love me?",
I asked myself that question many a night.
I dreamed, I hoped, I imagined what I'd say,
For I'd planned to tell her what I felt,
But I never did.
So she found love,
In the guise of a Roguish Corellian.

You say you could love me forever,
Could wipe away my tears,
Ease my heart's loneliness,
Make me laugh again.
I believe you, you are so generous with your care,
Beautiful, like an angel, eyes that glow like starlight.
I have feelings for you, but I need to close the wounds,
inflicted by the pain of unrequited love.
Give me time, to heal, to forgive, maybe to cry.
When I'm ready, you'll know, and I promise,
The moon, the stars, the suns, will envy us our love.
