Leaving Day

Leaving Day By Yvette Ghilan
I just came back to say goodbye
And she was gone.
The rooms stood cold
And empty, there was no one there
Just on a pillow lay a silky hair
Of finest gold.

I just came back to say goodbye

Perhaps to kill,
And so erase the last of what I'd been
Erase a former life, a past
That I have realy left behind me at last,
Then go, unseen.

You took her, Obi-Wan, this is your work.

May you be cursed!
I promise you, the next time, when we meet
I'll cut you down so fast
You won't have time to blast
For falling at my feet.

While I was gone she went away

I don't know where.
Perhaps it's better,so
For now I'll never see
Immense blue eyes turning away from me
Before I go.

The wind blows cold in open, empty rooms

The hair is gone.
Soon, I'll be far away
Never remembering how I stood alone
On that day I came back and she was gone-
On Leaving Day.
