| To Face Your Destiny |
To Face Your Destiny
I used to see it in your eyes,
The longing and the need.
To fly with freedom through the skies
With no concern or heed
And as you grew much stronger
And reached an older age,
I watched your tolerance of a farmer's life
Slowly turn to rage.
Being trapped upon this world
So filled with barren dust,
Only made you look toward the heavens
WIth desire and with lust.
Flying wild amongst the stars
Runs ingrained within your soul,
It's a trait that was your father's
And it scares me ever so.
Your uncle wants to keep you here
And, at times, I do agree,
But then I see your clear blue eyes
And know you must be free.
